CLEMENTINES
Grown
in Spain, Morocco and South Africa, Clementines are a sweet seedless
fruit similar to tangerines. This thin skinned citrus is easy to
peel, and can be used in recipes wherever other citrus fruits are
used, for zest and sweetening. This fiber filled fruit is nutritionally
rich with vitamins A and C, and is a tasty 35 calorie snack. Naturally
sweet, kids love them.
Spanish
Clementines are available from mid-October through February. They
reach their peak of flavor from November through January. Colorful
enough to grace a Thanksgiving fruit bowl, they make great Christmas
gifts, packed in little crates.
